How do I apply my iron-on patches to my garments?

1) Wash fabric first. Fabric softener should not be used.

2) Set iron to cotton setting. Do not use steam, and remove water from iron.

3) Lay your garment out on a hard, heat tolerant surface. A padded ironing board is not hard enough. Try placing a cutting board above padding.

4) Place heatseal side of patch onto fabric in desired placement area. Iron design for approximately 30-60 seconds, applying pressure. Do not move iron side to side as this may cause design to shift. Heavier fabrics may require more time, and lighter fabrics may require less time.

5) Allow time to cool, then make sure entire surface area is applied to fabric. If all pieces did not adhere, reapply heat for an additional 20-30 seconds. Allow to cool.

6) Turn garment inside out and apply iron to back of design area for approximately 30 seconds. Wait 48 hours before washing, and turn garment inside out when doing so.

How is pricing determined?

The base price per patch is determined by size and quantity, although many other factors can influence price, including number of colors, backing, specialty threads, etc.

How is size determined?

Size is determined by adding the length and width and then dividing by two. In other words, it is the average of the two dimensions.

How long does it take to make and receive the patches?

It depends on your order quantity. Quantity upto 1-100 patches does not take more than 12 days. A larger quantity will obviously require more time.

How many colors may I have in my patch?

You may have up to 9 colors for free. Each additional color is 10 cents per patch.

I don't have a design, can you help?

Yes, all you have to do is send us your ideas, scanned sketch or send us a rough drawing of what you want and we'll send you a production proof for your approval.

I have an existing patch that was made elsewhere. Can you duplicate it?

Yes. If you e-mail us the patch picture or a scanned image of the patch, we can duplicate it exactly.

I've never ordered patches before. How do I start?

It's easy. All you have to do is fill out our quote form, send your design and tell us how many patches you want to order. If you don't have a design, we can help create it for you.

Is there a standard patch size?

No. Different categories have different sizes, Support patches or name patches are not larger than 4 inch. Motorcycle back patches are not usually smaller than 9 inches, with the standard size being 12 inches.

Is there really no setup fee?

Yes! There is no setup, digitzing, or any other type of hidden fee.

What different backings can go on my patch?

PLASTIC: This backing adds stiffness and gives your patch support, allowing it to retain its shape over time. It is still thin enough to sew through. There is no charge for this backing.

HEATSEAL: Another word for iron-on. Allows you to apply your patch onto a garment using a home iron. If you are planning to wash your garment more than 50-80 times after the patch is applied, it is recommended that the heatseal only be used for pre-placement before sewing, and then followed up with a few tag stitches along the patch to hold it in place longer. NOTE: Heatseal will not stick to synthetic fabrics.

VELCRO: One (hook) side or both sides are available.

ADHESIVE: This is a peel and stick backing to hold a patch in place for a single event. It will not hold up to machine washing. If you desire your patch to stay in place permanently, go with the heatseal option, or plastic and sew your patches.

What if my design has an excessive amount of detail or small lettering?

First you can allow one of our artists to alter your design by removing some detail and increasing the size of the text. If this does not appeal to you, you may choose to increase the overall size of your patch. This will, however, increase the price as well. Last, you may change the production process to a woven or a printed patch, which will allow for significant amounts of detail at small sizes.

What is meant by embroidery coverage?

Embroidery coverage defines the amount of embroidery across the entire surface of a patch. We base our embroidery percentages upon 2 basic amounts: upto 99% and 100% Filling percentages.

What is the smallest lettering can be?

Without sacrificing quality and legibility, all lettering should be ¼” in height or about 5mm. We can make smaller letterings too but that will affect the look and visibilty of the writing.

What is your minimum / maximum order quantity (MOQ) ?

We don't have any minimums or maximums. When you order through us, we are fully equiped and ready to make as few or as many patches as you need. You can count on us!

What shape can my patch be?

Any shape you want. We custom manufacture our patches from scratch, so we can make them any shape, size and design.

Which file formats do you accept for submitted artwork?

"Our Art Department’s preferred file formats are cdr, pdf and ai. We will also accept psd, jpg, gif, bmp, tif, png.

If you have no other alternative we will accept doc, ppt, xls, wps. If you don't have the artwork you can simply write us what you want and we'll create it for you or a rough pencil sketch would work too :)"

Will I be able to approve my art before my patches are produced?

For Sure, your patches are your property and you totally reserve the right to approve it before the actual production takes place

Will I be able to see a sample of my patch before they are all made?

If you request, we can show you a sewn sample before commencing the final production. This step usually stretches the time by 2 days.
